About us

Lodsworth Croquet Club began in 2013 after a considerable amount of hard work in research, fundraising and planning by Alistair Proctor, Tim Johnson and friends. The club was originally set up so that villagers could play croquet socially with friends and family. Over the past few years, many of our club members have become very good players and we have been invited to play friendly and league matches with other clubs in the South East. We have reciprocated at our home lawn and made new friends in the process.  In 2017 we built our pavilion to make entertaining and social activities more enjoyable.

The club is a member of Croquet England and affiliated to the South East Croquet Federation and has become recognised as a club to watch in West Sussex!

Along with the club's weekly playing sessions and competitions, we aim to hold members' social events about once a month. Our pavilion facilities are ideal for socialising and serving both hot and cold food. The season usually starts in April, weather permitting, and remains open until November.

All ages are welcome to come along and give croquet a try!

Jamie Brooks Fisher, a founding member of the club, is our President.
